MP Visits The North

Mark Powell M.P. lays down a beat for songstress Chantal Lautrec

On a whistlestop tour of depraved regions, Mark Powell, MP for Snout-in-Trough, Berks., dropped in on Mæstoso slaving away on the new album at the Beast In The Cellar studio. "Something must be done for these lads", said Mr. Powell. "No light shines here, and the place reeks of talent. You can't believe this is still happening in our so-called 'enlightened' twenty-first century."

Mr. Powell then left for a slap-up dinner at "Hangers" restaurant, and an amusing game of croquet at the stately home of Lord Lees of Saddleworth.

"It was reassuring to know that even overpaid, understretched members of parliament have their finger on the pulse of the modern beat scene", said drummer Kim Turner.

Later, Mr. Powell commented, "This is a ringing endorsement of our "care in the community" programme."

(Mark Powell M.P. is in no way connected to Mark Powell of Eclectic Discs, or anything).
